Owners Journal EP1

Went to Australia this year for my first real break in ages. Took it slow, rested heaps and checked out some unreal brunch spots around Sydney and Byron Bay. Came back loaded with food, coffee and fresh ideas.
One thing really stood out were the iced lattes and matchas served in these slick little cans. They’re smart, clean, easy to grab and go and just look cool. So we brought the idea home, launched it this week and they’re flying out the door. Super popular with our younger customers and the coffee crowd.
When a good product meets sharp branding, it really lands. And yep, before anyone asks the cans are fully recyclable. We’re committed to keeping waste down. Honestly, with the big chains expanding everywhere, we've got to stay clever to keep ahead. Those cans did it for us this week simple move, turned heads, sparked chats. That's how independents keep fighting back: creativity, speed, care.
Trips like this remind me exactly why I got into hospitality. It’s the connection. The creativity. The chance to make someone’s day better with something as simple as a smile, a coffee or a plate of food. Stepping away resets the mind. I’m back with fresh ideas, full of energy—so keep an eye out. New specials are coming.
Before I left, I had a great night out with Ivy at Rigatoni’s (she's still calling it Sugo). Simple food, genuine service. It felt familiar and just right. That’s the heart of hospitality it doesn’t need to be flashy, just needs to feel good.
